Melissa’s mother specifically asked me “can you get a shot from the back when she walks down the isle”, I tried my best to say “I don’t think that will be possible”, simply because I am standing up front (for obvious reasons) and I have my assist watching other people, and the groom. so.. I don’t roll with three assistants LOL, and I had no idea how I could do this and make everyone happy. So, rather then saying “no”, I did some thinking and I did it! How? Well.. I had to build in a little extra time into the timeline to get to the church just a little sooner so I could setup a third “un manned” camera. I took my “backup” camera out, and mounted it to the balcony with a special clamp. I used my assistant, and focused the camera in a specific spot on the isle, and programmed the camera for “manual focus”. Then, I installed a “radio slave” on this camera, and I took the remote and placed it on top of my camera. This way, when ever it was “on” and I was shooting, it would also automatically trigger this remote camera too! It was brilliant, and worked perfect.
