Another “static” ring shot. This was actually completely lit by the sun!. I was in the brides mothers house, and decided to go outside to have a look around.. and I saw this “bush” that was mostly yellow. The sun was high in the sky, and I was able to use it to my advantage here. Shot with a Macro 100mm at around f/4. I am including this shot to really add some "color" and pop to my portfolio, and for you to see what can be captured with no additional gear at all. Just needed the sun!
Most South Florida Wedding photographers complain about the sun, and hate working with "hard light". I am really the opposite, I use it to my advantage whenever possible and no matter if it's a detail shot like this or a shot of people, I always seem to find a way to make it work, and work well. So much so that I actually look forward to bright sunny days in South Florida on the wedding day. Something that I know you would think would be obvious, but when it comes to photography this is often not what most "natural light" photographers feel comfortable with. That to me is a huge drawback and is the reason I am not one of them. I don't hide behind any "style", and I do what makes the most sense in any situation :-)
