Here is a shot that I will bet not many other Epic Hotel Wedding Photographers can create. This is not just Another “static” shot of the wedding dress. This was photo magic, and was totally done “in camera”, and there is no “Photoshop” of any kind. I am standing in the doorway at the Epic Hotel, and the dress is hanging on the glass. I have my assistant holding a powerful flash to one side, and I am placing my lens directly on the glass to get this effect. I have written before on how I feel wedding detail shots are always best with the bride in the frame (i.e. in the dress), but in some cases this is not possible due to time (see this helpful blog post on some wedding tips) SO... if I have to shoot items like this, then I need to be sure they are incredible and worth the effort to do it. This level of attention, detail, and thought is something that is very unique to me, my brand, and how I think and feel about the wedding day. I try and think in terms of "practical application" and this helps a lot. For example, HOW will the images be used? When you start to think globally about the wedding day content, it really helps to steer me in the creative avenues that I often explore.
