So, my rule is this.. if you have a huge beautiful tree like this one on your wedding day.. then we need to shoot it LOL. Seriously, check out this Up The Creek Farms Wedding... What a stunning place! This was about a 3 hour drive from where I live in Miami, FL but it was totally worth it! Thankfully they did a first look (you can check out their entire blog post over here) and this is what allowed plenty of time to in fact go and get creative shots all around the property like this. A first look is SO important IF you want to take full advantage of any photographers abilities, or ideas. Here is a quick tip video that I have made about this topic:
Thankfully in addition to my planning efforts that I do for each of the weddings that I shoot, they were working with some of my very favorite wedding planners in South Florida (see my above blog post) and this really makes a big difference on the wedding day, and ensures that everything runs very smoothly. Admittedly, I feel like 90% of the wedding planners I have seen / worked with over the years are a joke tho. Most of them just don't have enough real world experience to justify being a planner. In some cases they can even make matters worse by just getting in the way, and causing delays that don't need to happen.
